Hello,
I'm totally blind and have a few accessibility suggestions First thanks for the work you've done so far to make this client accessible to blind users, very appreciated. I use NVDA which is a free and open source screen reader found at http://www.nvaccess.org. The first suggestion I have is for chatting, There should either be sounds to let you know that a chat has been sent, or maybe nvda could read the chats automatically? NVDA has an api that can be used to have it speak things like incoming chats, etc. It also has an addon system so a plugin could be written to do this as well. I tried the speech plugin and it doesn't do this.
Second, unless someone tells you, nvda doesn't indicate that a popup window has come up, such as for accepting a friend or an offered item. Could this maybe be a standard windows dialog? Also, there are places with unlabled buttons and nvda and jaws don't speak when tabbing sometimes. Finally, tab names aren't announced when switching tabs such as im windows. Also, it isn't currently easy to close tabs using the keyboard at the moment. Thanks for your consideration of these,
Mike

To start with, do you have the speech plugin enabled in the Plugins menu?
