I'm on Fedora Core 14, and according to my add/remove program I have mono 2.6 something installed. I just downloaded the latest version according to the web page, and it shows as Radegast 2.4.1185
Some problems:
If I don't go anywhere, things are fine. But if I teleport - usually on a teleport offer - after the third or fourth one the program hangs. My friend who teleports me tells me I disconnect, but Radegast just sits there till I force-quit. This makes things like bouncing around to Midnight Mania boards, or helping someone gridhunt annoyingly painful. I've tried waiting till I get the inventory loaded message, and it doesn't change the behavior.
Links sent to local chat - for example, group join links - are not active. When I tried to look at someone's profile to get the group pane to join it, Radegast hung, and I killed it after 5 minutes. I came back and tried again, and it worked, but opening the group pane again hung the program, requiring a force quit. The entire window was non-responsive, including the system frame and the buttons on it - minimize, enlarge, close.
The program hangs for upwards of 10 seconds when a new group IM comes in.
slurl.com links break at a % - so, for example, I get slurl.com/secondlife/Dark%20Eternity/67/58/21 in the group chat. Everything up to the % is a different color and is clickable - but it brings up the webpage, it doesn't teleport me. Same for maps.secondlife.com .
The smallest font offered is 8.25, but what I'm seeing is far larger than that.
Frequently - but not every time - when I open the objects window, choose an object and click 'contents', the window that opens for the contents is half under the window that is the objects list. Closing and reopening the objects window fixes this.
When I did try to look at one of my attachments in the viewer - the Tiny Empires HUD - I had the outline, but not the words on it, just little white boxes where the letters would be. Zooming in didn't help. This happened whether I did it by clicking on my own name and choosing the Attn button, or clicking it in the objects list and choosing 3d view.
All of these problems are new since 2.0 was released. I greatly enjoyed using this client in the 1.x version. I had problems with 2.0, and then I was off SL for about 8 months, so I didn't see any releases in between then and now - I downloaded the newest version last night. I also tried running the Radegast.exe file using Wine, which just flat out didn't work - it never showed up, neither on my screen nor in the output of the 'top' command.
I'd also like to be able to have the objects window filter *out* the objects I'm wearing. Having my hair and shoes and HUDs there is redundant, for me, as I can see them in the attachments window.
Rather than remember name and password, could it just remember the name? I don't like to store my passwords anywhere.
Various text doesn't appear correctly. Right now, my name isn't showing up fully, despite there being space for its length. I include a screenshot of that.
Is there some way to turn off automatically seeing the other prims attached? I like the feature, but having the window pop open and shut is unpleasant. It also usually overlays the item I have highlighted, meaning I have to choose a different item with no attached prims to get the attached prim window to shut.
It just hung again, now - I had the objects window open, and had chosen something in it, and was using the down button to move down the list. When it had to scroll the list, it hung.
On the machine I had before, I figured it was just that the machine was old. But this is not only a newer (tho not new) machine, it's got a relatively modern graphics card in it - I can play World of Warcraft, and even run WoW and a third party graphical sim viewer at the same time. (Singularity is the one I use for that.)
I love the abilities that Radegast gives me - but this hanging and crashing is nonfunctional.
